Biomass is grind into powder before extraction. The powder is then loaded in to stripping chambers with
solvent. The extraction process is started with circulation of solvent to carry out the artemisinin from biomass by
solvent. This process is speed up by heating effect of heated team. The solvent is recovered by vaporizing
process where the vaporization tank is heat up by steam water (70o
C) to vaporized the solvent. Solvent then is
condensed in coolers and recovered in storage tanks. This process left in the vaporization tank the crude liquid, which contain artemisinin, oil, and wax. Artemisinin in crude liquid will be crystallize under room condition after few days. This artemisinin is filtered, washed, bleached, and purified up to higher 99% purity as final product of extraction plant.
